About the Author

Marie Barrett, author, teacher and life coach, helps people live their greatest potential and manifest their life mission.

She has spent most of her life in the study of philosophy, theology, mysticism, personal development and the pursuit of answers to the big spiritual questions of life.

Having pursued a life-long quest for the holy grail of spiritual union with God, divine Consciousness, Source Energy, she now shows others how to discover this divine indwelling.

At age seventeen, she asked admittance to the Discalced Carmelite Nuns Monastery in Melbourne, Australia. This ancient Order of nuns is an enclosed community, devoted exclusively to a life of solitude and contemplative prayer. Here she studied and practiced contemplative prayer, under the expert guidance of her wise mentors, themselves steeped in the ancient traditions of mystical contemplation and liturgical prayer.

In her sixteen years at the monastery, in addition to contemplative prayer, her major studies included philosophy, theology, biblical studies, and extended into other disciplines such as music, liturgy and writing. Enriched beyond measure by her years of monastic experience, Marie moved on from that way of life, following the spiritual call to bring the life of contemplative experience into the "world", beyond the walls of monastic solitude and silence.

She married, and settled on a farm near a small country town in rural Victoria, Australia, raising three fine sons. The move from the solitary life of a contemplative nun in the monastery, into the business world, then on to a rural lifestyle, though dramatically different in many ways, was still conducive to her further studies of spirituality, philosophy, psychology, personal development, new age, energetic healing and business.

Still spending time every day in silent meditation, or contemplative prayer, she believes everyone can experience moments of deep mystical union with divine Source Energy. Mysticism is no longer the privilege of monks and nuns, but the birthright of everyone, man, woman and child; it should be as usual and real as breathing, eating and sleeping.

Now it is her mission to help others discover their inner connection to Source, view the world from the perspective of "the me behind my eyes" and live with creative joy.
