Everyone wants to be loved and to love. Being in a loving relationship, having the desire to connect with another and feel loved, is one of the fundamental needs we all share as human beings. And yet this area of love, romance and intimate personal relationship causes many of us more grief and confusion than any other facet of our life.

Why is this so? And does it have to be this way forever? Of course not. We just need some relationship strategies to help us reconnect to the person we are committed to sharing our life with. What would happen to your deeply personal relationship if your lover began to offer you the gift of unconditional love? Would you feel somewhat bewildered, non-plussed, maybe even suspicious? But would you not soon begin to enjoy the change and start playing the same delightful game?

How would you feel if s/he refused to see your shortcomings but doggedly saw only how beautiful and attractive you are, regardless of whether you were acting kindly or magnanimously or were really just being selfish and self-centered? Unconditional love paints a wonderful picture, doesn't it.

On the other hand, what kind of response do you imagine you might receive from your beloved if these roles were reversed and you were the one giving the unconditional love and you refused to see anything in your lover that was not perfect and beautiful? What if you, in your own mind, always made excuses for your lover, refused to be affronted by your partner’s actions and reactions towards you, but put love where you found it difficult to find much?

It may feel a bit awkward for the first few days, but once your partner caught on to the fact that you were loving her/him no matter what, I believe the love dynamics of the energies between you would begin to change and soften. Keep loving no matter what, finding ways to meet your partner’s needs and your partner will eventually melt with love.

Try loving unconditionally for a week. Hold love in your eyes and love in your voice and touch, and discover what triggers your beloved to open to you, to respond with open heart and open arms. No-one can withstand such true and transparent love and you will draw closer together, maybe closer than ever before.

Can you see how your relationship might step up to a new and unprecedented level of love, trust and intimacy? Do you see how your regard for each other could skyrocket to joy and freedom, such that you would never have believed this closeness and intimate connection could ever be your happy lot?

So what’s stopping you from being the first one to offer unconditional love to your lover? If you can see the possibilities for changing your relationship forever just by loving every aspect of your partner and refusing to look at or dwell on their shortcomings, surely it is worth giving such a strategy a try. You haven’t much to lose, but by meeting our partner’s needs for love and closeness, imagine what you stand to gain!

You may feel distant from your partner for some reason right now; maybe you are worried about your finances, that’s a common divisive topic. Blame or pointing the finger will not solve the problem, but love might.

So you may ask how can love solve my financial challenges. And I tell you there is no greater or more powerful force in the universe, so applying love to every situation in life is likely to be a worthwhile course of action. Love brings out the best in people and raises them up to new levels of awareness and creativity. Joy clears the vision, happiness opens doors that were locked previously.

Suddenly your financial worries will lessen because they are more in perspective, they are not your primary focus, your partner is. You know that what you focus on, you energize, right? Well when you stop focussing so much on your financial problems, you allow yourself to find a little relief from the stress in that area, and already things are beginning to turn around. That’s the way life works. That’s called the Law of Attraction in action.

When you love someone you connect; the more pure and selfless the love, the more deep and powerful the connection becomes. You can take your intimate relationship to the next level of passion and delight. It takes one partner to make the first move, and this takes courage, but the rewards will far outweigh the discomfort of being the first one to try this. You deserve a love relationship that drives you to ecstasy and phenomenal love, so give this gift both to yourself and to your lover.
